Clip Command

Clip Command lets viewers create clips of the current stream instantly. You control permissions, cooldowns, and the chat response.

On this page you can configure the built-in !clip. Under Other Bots you also find ready-made commands for StreamElements, Nightbot, and more.

ByteMate Bot

Here you enable !clip, set permissions, and define global/user cooldowns. You also choose the response mode: Chat, Reply, or @Mention.

Optionally you can pass a title and duration in chat. Format: !clip Title Duration (duration must be the last number). Example: !clip My Moment 20.

Custom response

Optionally you can use a custom response text. Placeholders:

• {clipurl} - Link to the clip

• {user} - Triggering user

• {channel} - Channel login

• {title} - Title from the chat command (if provided)

• {duration} - Duration from the chat command (if provided)

Other bots

There are ready-made commands for StreamElements, Nightbot, Moobot, Fossabot, and Streamlabs. The link is secret - every call creates a clip instantly. You can rotate the token to invalidate old links.

Notes

• Set reasonable cooldowns so too many clips are not created.
• Clips can only be created while the stream is live.
• Share the secret link only with your bot integrations.
